The Church is Christ's,and He alone grows and adds to His Church. Jesus doesn't need any of us to try and do what was never meant for us to do,these pastors are wasting so much precious time and money and energy on trying to grow their churches instead of doing wwhat they were intended to do,which is to preach the Word (2 Tim. 4:2),that is all they are to be consumed with doing in service for the Lord, faithfully preaching the Word. The Church is supposed to be a place where believers meet for fellowship, and for being edified, and encouraged and taught the Holy scriptures,so that they, the believers, can go out into the world and share the Gospel with others and through the power of the Holy Spirit, make disciples and grow them up to maturity in the Lord as they are added to the Church by Christ.
It seems as though they think that the church is theirs to tinker around and experiment around with any way they so choose, why are they misunderstanding the fact that the church is Christ's,and He is perfectly capable of growing it and adding to it as He wills,it's the Holy Spirit that even draws someone towards God and the things of God,opening up their eyes to Gospel and putting in them a yearning for fellowship and learning and serving in a local church. No amount of fancy, expensive advertising or big,mega-church designs will ever do anything to attract one lost soul to Christ, thats the power of the Holy Spirit who does that, through the sound preaching/teaching of the Gospel, and all He needs to do that are broken, empty vessels through which to work,so that man can never, ever boast or take credit,it's all about the Lord Jesus Christ, and He alone deserves all the glory for what He has done and is still doing with His church.
