    very bummed!!!

I am bummed, so bummed I want to sit down and cry, did I mention I am bummed! I clean houses for extra income and homeschool our three children. My shoulder has been hurting for the past 6 weeks, my job is very physically demanding, so today I made an appointment to see my doctor. I just returned from the doctor with some bad news (not like I am dying or anything), he said either I have frozen shoulder or torn rotator cuff. Ok a few years ago I developed frozen shoulder in my right shoulder, I had to stop working and it took 18 months to 2 years to return to normal during that time, I tried steriod shots, med's, and physical therapy. Nothing fixed it except time. Now it seems like it is developing in my left shoulder, and I am not happy. It feels the same, and it was so painful. I need the extra income to help support our family. I am just so bummed out right now. I need my body to do what I want it to ( I would normally insert a smilie here but I am really bummed! Ok that is funny).

Well I guess I am just having a pitty party right now and need to just get over it, God always provides for our needs what makes this any different. I guess I just need some time to work this through and see if the med's will do the trick this time (the doctor wasn't very hopeful, I also have diabetes which makes one more prone to frozen shoulder go figure). I just want to pull the covers over my head.

I had rotator cuff tendonitis and it was the devil (pardon the pun) to get over
First I probably was in pain for months before it dawned on me that while the pain wasn't severe it was constant. And the only thing that worked for me was time. And I was limited in what I was able to do during that time.

  6. If you could get a referral to a good adult occupational therapist, they could give you some ways to use your body to do your job that would avoid/prevent a recurrence. You might need some physical therapy and meds to get the current situation calmed down first.

Thanks everyone for the hugs and prayers they are so appreciated! I just picked up my med's and now I am afraid to take them because I read the side effects (heart attacks and stomach bleeding). So I am not sure I am even going to take it, I might just call the doctor tomorrow and see if there is something else they can put me on that won't cause death. Why oh why. LOL, I am in a better mood and calmed down, so I am just going to deal!

Thanks for remembering my son. He is doing so well right now, which is such a blessing! He gave me a big hug this evening and told me I hope you feel better soon!

Is it possible to look for some other work for the extra income that isn't as taxing on your shoulder? If you're prone to that type of injury maybe that would be the better option.

I have had a frozen shoulder twice, i see that you live in Indaina. i live in Ky. i go to a orthopedic doctor by the name of Kitty Gerorge. she is right by the Ky. /Indiana border. she put a shot in my arm and sent me to pyhsical therapy the first time and i worked right through it, ( pulling big wool coats through a sewing machine, in a sporting goods store). 3 years later when it happened again, i went in and got the shot and did the exercises that i had learned in pyhsical therapy. i m just now getting it worked loose again, believe me, i Know the pain and misery you are going through. i have stood in my living room and done those exercises while tears rolled down my cheeks, Lol. i have to laugh at myself or i would have goen mad!, Lol. if you want the # of that doctor let me know, she is the Best i have ever been to. i'll be praying for you.

Just saw your post about picking up your meds. my regular doctor tried to put me on Viox years ago, the first round of frozen shoulder. i refused. 6 months later she was stat flighted to a louisville hospital with a hole in her stomach, from taking it herself. i get the shot in my shoulder joint that fights inflamation, eases the pain and loosens up the frozen shoulder, so that you can work it loose. that way my stomach doesn't suffer from the meds. and it works far faster too.

I am so sorry for the pain you are going through. I'm diabetic as well, and had (both) frozen shoulders in '95. It eventually went way on it's own, but the meantime is so very painful.
I am praying that the Lord will heal you quickly- dear Circle.

Just to clarify, I had the shots last time and it did nothing. I also went to a specialist did the physical therapy (2x a week) and stretching everyday. I still lost 85% of my range of motion and the pain was . I just called and am switching doctors, we have a family friend who is a doctor everyone in our family sees him (except for me, I have been holding out because I am a diabetic and don't want to switch my diabetic specialist but now our insurance will cover it). Well anyway I am going to see him next week, his wife had frozen shoulder the first time I had it and her and I would cry toghether lol. My dh is taking off on Friday to help with my houses so I am glad for that.

I will be fine it was just the intial fact that it is a problem again. I will just deal and work through it. I just wanted to vent!

to you and everyone. I am feeling much better about it. God has always taken care of us! He of course will continue too. I have been considering a job change cause these old bones seem to be hurting more and more, but my business has been growing and I hate to give it up. My dh thinks I should hire some one but I am not sure I have enough work to hire someone. I know my next door neighbor really wants to work for me. e

I want to say thanks again to everyone for their prayers. They really helped me
