Ok, so that’s not really news. Yet we wonder, does Purpose Driven Pope Rick Warren actually read a whole verse of Scripture?

    Today he Tweets:

@RickWarren 30 yrs ago I cut “impossible” out of my dictionary because its not in God’s vocab.”With God all things are possible”

    Matthew 19:26

Yes, for God all things are possible; however, the whole verse reads – But Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

Here we have a perfect example of what happens when you’re more interested in having men speak well of you (see-Luke 6:26) than you are standing in the council of the Lord in order to proclaim His Words (see-Jeremiah 23:22).

And yet, millions will not even realize he can't quote the entire verse.

You know that is sad, because in that case, that bit of omitted scripture won't keep someone out of Heaven, but can you just imagine the many salvation verses that if you omit one or two words, or even leave out entire passages, you've just changed the requirements? Oh but wait, he's done that.

Excellent post!!! Thank you for that! This is why it is vital that we stay in the word and know what it says!!! It is our armor!

  8. This is a really careless and inerrant statement for anyone to make,
especially a proposed Pastor....Luke 1:37. For with God nothing shall be impossible

there is so much wrong with this, I coudln't even type it all. he needs a vacation,
    or something

This has been going on for the last 30 years with the Positive Confession movement people
It started with Napoleon Hill and crystal cathedral's Robert Shuller

    Yes, it did.

Once again, I am repeating that Warren Smith's A Wonderful Deception makes all the connections. Riveting!

You're right on target, Buzz! And it even goes back beyond Schuller to Norman Vincent Peale! No surprise there, but playing connect the dots is great!

Like so many in the Apostasy, they quote what they like, and disregard what they don't.... Didn't God say 'Whomever omits from this Book, I will omit from the Book of Life and anybody who adds to the Book, I will add his name to the plagues'

They've already done that too!!!!! Let's just look at the Message. But there are others. I recall a "bible" that came out in ghetto language!

When I was young I used to watch Benny Hinn on television with a bible in my lap. I would check every reference he made and wonder why I came to a different conclusion than Benny did. I caught him outright lieing several times and eventualy had to stop watching him.

So many people don't read the bible AT ALL, let alone check the scripture being quoted by the paster.

Since my Benny Hinn encounter, I don't trust any of them. They might be right, they might not be. I'll only believe them (or anything from RR) when I've read the bible and come to the same conclusion.

It's not fool proof, but its the best I can do for now.

That is the criteria I use when judging any man who trys to teach me from the bible. If I am reading along with him and am wondering if he is reading from the same book I am that raises red flags big time.

Oh the Message version is soo bad. If you parallel it to NKJ or NASB you will be able to see the difference; the verses in the Message are so watered down.
