I thought it might be fun to keep y'all up to date on the DAILY handouts.

Today, 4 trips on paratransit. To and from the home improvement warehouse. To and from our favorite taqueria for lunch.

I gave each driver a Bible (the Bibles come with a tract, "I'll be praying for you" card, and "Where to look in the New Testament" tract).

I also gave 2 to other passengers, and one to the cashier at the warehouse.

Please pray for ALL the recipients!

" I have had an increasing burden to engage in some down and dirty, street evangelism." March 6, 2010

Isaiah 6:8 I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: “ Whom shall I send, And who will go for Us?”

Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.”

    Matthew 22:9 NIV

That is great! You are awesome!

I was wondering though....how do you start the conversation to give them a Bible in such a short time as you have? I have a hard time starting the conversation with people I've known for a long time. But even so, I would have a harder time starting it with a cashier at my grocery store, even though I see them multiple times each week.

Just hoping you can share some tips...reading your threads on your evangelism is truly enjoyable...
Whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. (John 4:14)

Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. (Proverbs 3:5-6)

Generally, if I'm getting rung up, I chat about my purchases, then say "I'd love to give you something!" Or ask "Can I give you this?"

Make sure it isn't a Bible sold by the store, or they could get into trouble.

Sometimes I will say "I'd love to give you a Bible". Most everyone says "OK".

Yesterday, I tried to give a teller a Bible. She said "I don't want this" and handed it back. That's about as "bad" as it gets. Then I just put them on the prayer list. I do the same thing on a Big Bible handout. If they sneer at me or glare, I just smile and walk off, thinking "You're still on the prayer list!"

I have even had encounters where I held out a Bible to someone as they walked by, and they took it.

Listen to the Holy Spirit. You can't go wrong.

All that said, I have had a few times where I got a very clear NO BIBLE FOR HIM. When I disobeyed, the guy just freaked out. He had to have a demon. But, that happened because I disobeyed.

      Today was pretty quiet.

I gave one to my pickup driver, and one to the home driver. The other clients were either blind, or unable to process.

On our ride home, the driver was really excited. She liked the tract Ron gave her so much she planned to run off 100 copies to hand out, herself! :clap

        Got this on my blog...

I know you feel strongly about what you believe, but your " truth" is not everyone's reality. You may be Christian, not everyone is. While you see your path as the only correct one, that is not true for all. Nor is your path, prayer or feeling about God the whole truth. Most folks are understanding and accepting of you faith. I would die for you right to practice...... I do not teach my children the fear of devil, slave to a supernatural being you believe in, I teach them to believe in God in everyone. You must believe in the devil to fear it. We do not......
I know in your heart you believe in ultimate truth. But the reality is, they believe just as strongly in their truth.

I wish you well, think your bible handouts are fine and support your rights of freedom to believe and spread what you believe to be Gods word. Just understand kids are a different story pleaeedo not offer " my" child your idea of truth unless you in private ask. Fair is fair..the parents refusal should be in private and NOT in front of the child so they look like the bad guy
        Thank you
He assumed I had given a child a Bible, without parental permission.

If the Bible is a book of fables then why is he freaking out?

        I explained, I had permission.

I also reminded him I have a Christian blog.

Sometimes I wonder how long I really have to hand out the Bibles.

I didn't mention the Halloween handouts, he'd have had an aneurysm. Every kid who comes to my door gets Jesus in one form or another.

        And the parents LOVE it.

          Seven!

One to each of my drivers (2).

Then, we ordered pizza. I put candy in with two Spanish New Testaments. Spanish folk like a hot, salty candy. I did that and some regular candy in the ziplock. Then I bagged up 3 NT "done up" with some candy. I put all 5 in the same bag, and handed it to the deliveryman with the (decent) tip.

          Now, let's pray for them!

Guys are coming out and working on my house.

It's a hot day, so I rode the bus and got more gatorade and ice.

I put some snickers bars into the done up Bible Bags. Boy, the drivers LOVED them.

            2 bus drivers.
1 Spanish guy sitting outside Foodtown with his kid.

Foodtown had a sale on full sized candy bars, so I bought an assortment to hand out in the Bibles.

I also got rid of a JW tract I found in the bathroom.

              Today was pretty busy.

I left the house with 10 Bibles.

When I came home, my driver asked me for 2 more, for his family, in addition to the one I gave him.

              Total, I handed out 10.

              4 drivers. 2 Tellers. 2 for A's family. 2 for other passengers.

Thank you for using, me, Lord!

The full sized candy bar in with the New Testament was a huge hit.

Ron asked me to share a tract he hands out.

I'm guessing that the average person doesn't believe in God, because:
They would have to make a change, in what they do, say, and think! Who wants to!
I basically like who I am, because I'm not that bad!
Also, I don't like anyone telling me how to think, and what to say, and not say!
What do I get if I believe in God?
Evil people are all around me, and they seem to be doing just fine!
Revelation 21-4 says we will live forever, in a beautiful place, with no more pain, tears, or suffering!
Sounds good to me, what about you! Great trade!
Let's be blunt! He created sex and the orgasm, but He wants us to have them under certain conditions, to protect our health and safety!
Do you wanna hurt and be sad? No!
How about a world with no money or endless, unpayable bills!
What profit does one have, if he has a billion dollars, but can't get out of his hospital bed!
What if you have all the money in the world, but you're extremely sick all the time!
We really think we don't need Him, until we die, then suddenly, we find out we're going to Heaven or Hell!
Where do you want to go?
John 3-16 says, He gave His son, as our whipping boy, so that whoever believes in Jesus, will have eternal life, and never die!
When do you want your life battery to burn out? Pick a day! You can't!
Can you add one hair to your head, or one day to your life? He can!
It scares us to know He has such power! When it comes to human beings,
power corrupts! And absolute power corrupts absolutely
We're not use to anyone being good with a lot of power!
They're usually very corrupt. Look at some of our politicians!
Don't we hate crooked cops and teachers?
They can negatively affect our wallets, and our earning abilities!
Do you like getting a ticket or grade you didn't deserve? Of course not!
The great philosopher,Pascal, says if you think there's a God, and you find out you were wrong,
then hopefully, you've lived a better life!
But if you believe He doesn't exist, and find out later that you were wrong,
well, now it's too late to do anything about it!
Wouldn't you be mad to find out He wanted to give you a wallet that never ran out of money, no matter how much you spent?
So, ask Jesus for forgiveness, for all your bad thoughts and actions and deeds, then try and follow the one major commandment,
Love God and what He stands for, and then love your neighbor as yourself!
I think that's one of the hardest rules to follow!
Also, love your enemies! That's another hard one, but if we are kind to a person who deserves our hatred,
but we give him love instead, then he might wonder why!
Then, you can share your faith with him, and maybe you can save his sorry butt! Just kidding!
Jesus said He's not returning to Earth until everybody's had a chance to accept or reject Him!
Please make the smart choice, otherwise, I, and a lot of others, will miss you!
I used to be a complete atheist, but if He can save me, a perfect sinner, then He can save anybody!
Before I met my wonderful wife, I used to be a very bad boy!
I used to say, if I'm gonna go to Hell, then, I wanna go first-class!
I heard it stupidly said, I'd rather rule in Hell, than serve in Heaven!
Last I heard, Satan isn't sharing his power with anyone!
So make a good decision! Where do you want to go in THE END!
Ask Him for help, because it is through His actions, that we are saved, not our own!
I've heard it said that our best deeds are like dirty diapers!
So, you can't earn your way to Heaven. It is through Him only! He's the only door!
Just accept His undeserved gift and let Him save you! Thanks for reading!

I like to put it in a Bible I'm handing out.

Thanks! It dawned on me, if people liked the big handouts, they might be curious about the day-to-day.

Today, I just had one. It had a candy bar, which the driver ate very rapidly. She was saved, but very excited about a "little Bible to put in my lunch bag".

A lot of the drivers have told me, they have a huge, fancy, Bible at home. One they are terrified to take out in public, and "hurt".

Ron handed out a couple of tracts.

Today was a lot of fun.

I had 4 drivers. Each got a Bible. Not only that, 2 other passengers got Bibles.

AND - I had a very strong feeling - and actually threw a Bible to a guy sitting at a bus stop, as the driver pulled away, she said "OH, he's picking it up!"

On the way home, I encountered a Spanish Evangelist who told me he is being charged $200 for a case of 25 Bibles! Ouch!

We have ridden with him before, he's the real deal, saved, good faith, good discussions. I had a very positive feeling, from God, about him.

I told our driver I'd share some Bibles when I got home. Prayed about it.

Heard, very loudly, "Give him a case".

He had also mentioned he would like some English.

So, I got into the personal stash (I'd bought a case of whole Bibles, in English, with my own money), and gave him 10 or so, plus most of a case of Spanish.

He was so happy he almost cried, then he gave me a huge hug.

And I gave him the contact info on AFFORDABLE Bible places.

So, in a sense, I gave out over 60 Bibles today.

                              Directly, it was 8.
