  • PORN attached to news webs

I am increasing troubled with what I perceived to be conservative news sites that have on the right side of screen those "FEATURED STORIES YOU MAY LIKE" or "TRENDING NOW" add on's which at times feature vulgar looking women in various states of undress /no dress. For example about 2 weeks ago I assessed what I feel is a conservative news site owned by who I perceived to be a Christian only to feel "gut punched" by a half nude woman displayed at the right side of my screen I will not TOLERATE such in my home or anywhere I can avoid that TRASH !! Does anyone know of a way to filter out that FILTH and still be able to assess stories on a site ? Some years ago I canned regular TV due to the increasing vulgarity of it. Now I only get news off the net and now find that even a so- called conservative news site displays stuff I seek to avoid. IF anyone has any IDEA's or WAYS how to keep this trash off my screen I'd be VERY appreciative to know of it. Obviously OUR LORD is very displeased when a news site owned by who I thought was supposed to be a Christian allows such filth on their web site . I need to stay up on the news BUT will not tolerate such on my screen. Thanks in advance for any who can shed some light on this for me.

Some news providers allow you to select 'reader view' you can usually see this in the address window on phones and tablets or as a menu option on modern laptop and PC browsers.

What these readers do is present the news article usually without the extraneous ads and navigation elements. It makes things easier to read and is less likely to crash your browser when it gets overloaded by media intensive ads and bloat-ware.

    I hope this helps 👍

Some sites are hosted by third parties and the ads are generated elsewhere and generate income through clicks.

There are free ad blockers that help with pop ups and reader view is seconded.

I feel the same way. Satan is out to get us in any way possible. Business is driven by profit, not by morals and ethics and Satan is capitalizing on it. Also they feel they have to be PC and not reject any ads that would generate money for them. IMHO

I feel the same way also, it is so annoying! Even Fox News has what I'd call "soft porn" on the pages.

Reader view is a good suggestion, sometimes I just slide half my browser off-screen so I don't have to see the sidebar, or even just hold my hand up to block the view.

Maybe do a search for "text only browser" and see if any of those add-ons or apps might be useful...

Google "pop up blocker" or "ad blocker". The one I use is called Adblock Plus and it blocks out pretty much everything, and it's free.

One of the main headlines for Fox News this morning was "Topless model nearly swept onto jagged rocks by huge wave during photoshoot". The picture of her doesn't leave much to the imagination.

Any guy or gal who's struggled with pornography in the past is going to have a difficult time not looking at images like that. It makes me sad.

Ad blockers are smart but we'll probably always have pictures like that in our face if we watch tv or look at things online. Pray for protection and strength.

It's almost like the News sites are saying, "Happy Valentines Day to all you wives out there! Here's a picture of a half naked model for your husband's to gawk at. Oh, and try not to compare your body to hers."
