    Today’s news…

Vatican/Jewish relations are warming up…I was just reading this article at ZENIT, out of Rome re: the new Israeli envoy (from the tribe of Levy) meeting with the Pope. It mentions the Fundamental Agreement they have been working on (since the mid 90s).

    http://www.zenit.org/article-22592?l=english

I Google searched Fundamental Agreement Noahide Laws to see if there was any connection and ended up on a Vatican site.

    March 2007

You may want to read the whole page and you can see where these relations are going…just sending the following from #3. In relation to my study this I interesting….laws, moral code, incumbent on all humanity.

    3. God has created the human person as a social being which by definition places limits on individual human freedom. Moreover freedom of choice is derived from God and therefore is not absolute, but must reflect Divine will and law. Accordingly human beings are called to freely obey the Divine will as manifested in the Creation and in His revealed word.

Jewish tradition emphasizes the Noachide Covenant (cf. Gn 9: 9-12) as containing. the universal moral code which is incumbent on all humanity. This idea is reflected in Christian Scripture in the Book of Acts 15: 28-29.

It's a small example of the spiritual warfare that is happening in Israel right now, and also a good example of why Jewish believers in Yeshua might fear being exposed.

AMBASSADORS SIGN DECLARATION TO PROMOTE THE SHEVA MITZVOS (Noahide laws)

One of the surprises at last night's Kinus in Tel Aviv: Ambassadors from six different countries came to take part in the gathering and declare in the name of the states they represent, their support of the Sheva Mitzvos Bnei Noach. They represented; Poland, Latvia, Mexico, Panama, Ghana, and Japan, they were part of a special program organized by Harav Boaz Kali.

Harav Kali spoke shortly about the work being done to spread the message of the Sheva Mitzvos Bnei Noach, followed by a short video on the importance of the Sheva Mitzvos. To the amazement of the audience at the Kinus, the Ambassadors signed a special proclamation which calls for all mankind to follow the Sheva Mitzvos Bnei Noach.

The newly elected president of France Nicolas Sarkozy, met with the Shliach of the Rebbe Melech Hamoshiach to Neuilly, Rabbi Dovid Zaoui, who presented the president with literature on the Sheva Mitzvos Bnei Noach. The bond between Sarkozi and Rabbi Zaui began about 12 years ago when Rabbi Zaui opened the Beis Chabad in Neuilly "Sarkozi always showed support for all Chabad activities, and he always seeks my advice before any important steps" Rabbi Zaoui told Chabad.info.

Rabbi to hand out info about Noahide laws to RNC attendees:

Reaching Out to Jewish Convention-Goers With Kosher Food and Information

...The Republican National Convention, meanwhile, which is set to run from Sept. 1 to 4 in Minneapolis-S. Paul, Minn., has had Rabbi Moshe Feller busy setting up accommodations for his city’s expected guests. Feller, the director of the Upper Midwest headquarters of Chabad-Lubavitch, reported that his Chabad House’s 13 multiple-occupancy guest rooms are already booked for the convention week by people who want readily available kosher food. The rabbi added that he and his fellow emissaries intend to distribute information about the various responsibilities of Jews and non-Jews – in addition to the services available at the Chabad House – during the convention.

“Wherever Jews are to be found, it’s an opportunity to bring them closer to Torah and mitzvahs,” said Feller, using the Hebrew word for Divine commandments. “We don't have a political statement to make, just a Torah statement to make.”

The rabbi added that he will be distributing information about the Seven Noahide Laws, which G-d gave to all mankind.

“The Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson, of righteous memory, stressed the importance of teaching non-Jews their responsibility to uphold the Noahide Laws,” explained Feller. “The eyes of the nation will be here, and it’s an opportunity for Jews and non-Jews to learn how to perfect themselves and the world"

Chabad Rabbi First Non-Catholic Ever Offers Prayer at America's Freedom Festival

              PROVO, UTAH -- (July 23, 2008)
              Staff Writer

(lubavitch.com) Rabbi Benny Zippel, Director of Chabad of Utah, became the first non-Catholic clergy to offer the invocation at America’s Freedom Festival.

Billed as the largest July 4th celebration in the country with record attendance, some 17,000 participants listened in hushed silence as Rabbi Zippel offered his prayer.

Sharing a stage at Brigham Young University's Marriott with radio and television host Glen Beck, Zippel used the opportunity to touch on universal values, specifically the Noahide Laws. He spoke of faith in G-d as intrinsic to American values that are celebrated on Independence Day.

The king (of Bahrain) had been in New York to attend last week’s Interfaith Conference, organized at the United Nations at the initiative of Saudi Arabian King Abdullah. Israeli President Shimon Peres and Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni were both present at the conference, along with representatives of more than 50 other nations.

According to the Chabad.org website, at the meeting Rabbi Shemtov bestowed the traditional blessing on the king that is recited when one sees a ruling monarch. A delegation of 50 Bahraini Jews who currently live in the U.S. stood for the blessing.

“I rise in honor of Your Majesty,” Rabbi Shemtov said to King Hamad, “and I humbly ask Your Majesty to rise in honor of the One G-d, the King of all Kings, in Whose Name we offer blessings.”

When the king rose, the rest of the room rose with him, and the rabbi thanked the Creator for “bestowing a part of His glory” on an earthly monarch.

“Bahrain has a rich Jewish history,” noted Shemtov, “and I feel that Bahrain, and particularly His Majesty, can play a unique role in bringing about positive movement within their arena in regard to the Jewish people and the world at large.”

King Hamad, who ascended to the throne in 1999, has been a controversial figure in the Arab Muslim world, instituting a number of electoral and legal reforms.

In August, he also extended a general invitation for Bahrain’s expatriate Jews to return to their former home, including those who had moved to the Jewish State.

More recently, the king promoted through his Foreign Ministry the suggestion that Israel be included in a regional summit of Middle Eastern nations that would also list Iran among the attendees.
