A legislator who filed a lawsuit against God has gotten something he might not have expected: a response.

One of two court filings from “God” came Wednesday under otherworldly circumstances, according to John Friend, clerk of the Douglas County District Court in Omaha.

“This one miraculously appeared on the counter. It just all of a sudden was here — poof!” Friend said.
    What an awesome response.

Ernie Chambers is one step closer to his day in court with the Almighty.

He will appear before Douglas County District Judge Marlon Polk at 9 a.m. Tuesday for a scheduling hearing concerning his lawsuit vs. God.

In his lawsuit, Chambers seeks "a permanent injunction ordering Defendant to cease certain harmful activities and the making of terroristic threats."

He notes that the U.S. government — and by extension, its courts — takes notice of the Almighty by printing "In God We Trust" on currency and in a variety of other ways.

So apparently God must have a good reputation since the government thinks He is so trustworthy. How could the court rule against Him?
