  • Analog to digital switch for TV

    http://www.switched.com/2008/03/26/c...s-in-your-home

Comcast is experimenting with camera technology. More specifically, it trying out technology that turns cable boxes into camera-equipped devices that would utilize body-form-recognition as a means to provide custom-tailored service, and, of course, custom tailored advertising. The boxes would be able to tell who is in the room based on the shape of their body, thus tailoring programming to fit their specific desires and security settings

They will put a camera in my home over my dead body. Even if that became the only way to get cable service i would put tape over the lens and tell them to shove it if they didn't like it.

Putting tape on the lense will not stop "them" from being able to hear your conversations.

Oh, my word, I have never heard of such a thing.

Can they really do that? Surely NOT without the person's permission?

They can hear us through cell phones if they want.

Well maybe we should have large cards with scripture verses written on them and flash them at the TV set. Make use of it as a tool for sharing the gospel. That'll teach them or maybe at least deter them.

I was thinking the same thing when I posted about them being able to hear you.

Sad truth is, if you carry a cellphone, you can be located within ten minutes. Of course, the solution to that one is change phones, or don't carry one.

                      I Don't Mind This

First of all, there is a way to hear conversations on a cell phone. We already know that.

As for tracking, I do not mind that as I think it has helped authorities locate lost people (like in the woods), and victims of kidnapping and foul play.

I'm always aware that people could be listening in on my cell. If they want to bore themselves with listening, oh well.

I do not like it, but I do think this is a trend and nobody asked me for my opinion.

I know all airlines have emergency locator transmitters to help them be located in the event of a crash though this is not the same as listening into telephone conversations.

I'm not for people snooping into my life; I wanted to point out the good uses of tracking by cell phone.
Jesus saith unto him, "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life; no man cometh unto the Father but by me." John 14:6

I have been wondering if the new television thing is a way to get into our homes. There is an ad on tv saying if you have an old tv set to contact some government agency to get a conversin box. That just seems fishy to me.

I told a friend once that eventually they would be able to track people in their homes through the TV and he laughed and said no way. Said there would have to be a 2-way transmitter or something. I can't wait to show this to him he can call me silly all he wants. I knew it was coming

my laptop has a built in webcam (which i don't have any use for), but hubby jokes that he is monitoring me while he's at work.... as funny as that is, i wouldn't be surprised if there was a way he could

Maybe there are already tiny hidden cameras behind every monitor and TV screen out there...
