I need to make a clarification myself!

In post #14 I was operating under the assumption that Rush was married when he was taking his trip to the Dominic Republic. Turns out the man is on his 4th marriage. This said, Rush was not married when he took his trip. He didn't step out on a wife. He didn't have one.

This isn't to excuse Rush's moral failures mind you. Adultery vs fornication is sin vs sin.

I personally felt that was something worth making clear though. It was a baseless assumption on my part. Rush is still plenty messed up, but not as bad as I had figured in this instance.

It really does seem though the fundamental conservative radio giants keep shooting themselves in the face in regard to their personal witness, and that's very sad. It makes their testimony of the facts ineffectual and weak, regardless of how much truth there is to it.

I understand myself Rush isn't a Christian and that he's not on the air to deliver a salvation message to anyone (though for his sake I pray that might change someday soon), much less expected to lead a Christian life.

But he is indeed one of the more prominient conservative talking heads and things like his trip to the Dominican Republic do give occasion to his enemies.

The liberal socialists are hypocrites and practicers of all kinds of wickedness themselves mind you, but they're quick in calling the kettle black.

        My .02.

I found Miss Flukes testimony astounding, and definately worthy of scrutiny and criticism, and even to a degree personal criticism.

That said, I agree with other folks I have read, that male Conservatives should be gentlemen, and Rush's comments were very ungentlemanly. He was right to apologize.

I would like to point out the double standard however. Left wing commentators regularly say horrible things about Conservative women, and rarely does anyone in the MSM care...

I agree with the above. I stopped listening years ago when Rush decided that H*** was okay to say, along with sexual innuendos and other coarse language.

He is very smart, and able to articulate the conservative viewpoint, but is unable to control his tongue, IMO. It does not help the conservatives when he cannot control his speech. How he speaks and the words he chooses reflect directly on him, and indirectly on like-minded conservatives. It's about time that he learned how to control his tongue.

It is a shame that the conservative voices will all be silenced until we all become mind-numbed robots who willingly kowtow to TPTB. They will stop at nothing to get us all thinking alike and "correctly".

Rush, take this episode as a hint. We need you to remain on the air so you can voice the alternative point of view. Keep the discourse civil.

A single man doesn't get busted flying back from the Dominican Republic (the Bangkok of the western hemisphere) with 29 mislabled Viagra unless he is a slut. Rush has zero moral authority. Quit listening to him years ago. If I want conservative philosophy without the hypocrisy I stick to the writings of the likes of the Heritage Foundation and the CATO Institute. Honestly, talk radio is a sewer on both the right and the left.

^I don't know anything at all about Rush's sex life, however, I generally hold that people private sex lives, are their private sex lives, and I have no interest in them.

What makes Miss Flukes private sex life, not private, is the fact that she went before a Congressional Committee to demand that the public pay for her contraceptives. If she doesn't want her sex life being discussed in the public arena, she should keep it private.

Yeah, we've established Rush is utterly shameless and incredibly stupid considering some of the things he says and does. There's a pretty smart guy under the layer of stupid though.

                What about Miss Fluke?

This whole world is a sewer of sin. When dealing with this world you're weighing the balance between bad and worse. I seriously doubt either Rush or Fluke are saved so, what do you expect from these folks apart from God?

My issue is that Limbaugh said that Fluke and women who use contraception want to "be paid for having sex", asking, "what does that make them? Sluts? Prostitutes?"

He's not just insulting Fluke, but any woman who uses contraception.

If not having to pay for contraception out of pocket makes you a slut, every woman that works for Fox News is a slut.

Seriously folks, turn off your radio and TV and stop looking for guidance from these people. Start READING. TV and radio is a wasteland on both the left and right. Rush knows what he said was idiotic, that's why he apologized.

And stop treating contraception like the enemy. Abortion is murder, contraception is NOT. If more people used their heads about contraception in this country we'd be paying for lots fewer welfare kids.

                      And?

I can think of one instance off the top of my head where a woman would have legitamate need for contraception.

Any woman needing a form of contraception outside of marriage is only for something far less then noble. Does anyone have any doubt as to what Rush could have needed 29 Viagra pills for?

I don't know if Rush mispoke in a particular sentence or two during the several hours he spoke, but I listened to him, and I think it was clear that he meant that "women who want others to pay for their contraception" want to "be paid for having sex".

It is sort of an absurd stretch, but he was by no means insulting all women who use contraception.

Although that is the conclusion that the left wants the public to draw with this contrived issue. There are very few people on the right who want to in any way outlaw contraception. If I don't want to buy you a hamburger, I am not stopping you from eating one.

Obviously your comments are coming straight from the msm. What Rush said was an echo of what Fluke stated, she is paying so much for her contraception she is going broke.... I would say her comment speaks for itself.

No one on the right is treating contraception like the enemy or have railed against it...I sorry, but your statement sounds like it is straight out of the mouth of a leftist... Contraception is not the topic, the topic is the Obama controlled government forcing religious organizations to pay for a practice that is against their beliefs. Did you know that this very legislation now has Protestant colleges being forced to pay for the morning after pill(abortion pill)? You clearly have no understanding of the actual controversy.

Exactly!! You are absolutely correct. I'm a home maker and like to have the radio on in the background as I go about my housework, etc during the day. So, I was listening to Rush that day and he absolutely did NOT say that all women who use contraception are ...s- words or anything of the sort.

If you don't like Rush's use of language, especially regarding this whole Fluke business, that is certainly understandable and is a fair criticism. But I don't think it's right to twist his words to make him look any worse.

I am a conservative, however, I have found Mr Limbaugh hypocritical, obnoxious, and offensive for a very long time. I think everyone was able to make their own judgements about Ms. Fluke without using offensive language. I think he is a shameful, ugly, person.

See, I didn't have to use any bad words to say that.

Fact: Rush Limbaugh was an enormous drug addict, popping tens of Hillybilly Heroin pills a day for years while railing against drug abuse and saying all abusers should be in prison. HYPOCRITE

Fact: Rush and a bunch of other single male millionaires flew back in a private jet from a tiny country known for sex slavery, with Rush in possession of illegal Viagra. That is 'slutty' behavior. HYPOCRITE

Fact: This Fluke woman, Rush said this of her, ON THE AIR: "we want you to post the (sex) videos online so we can watch". CREEPY, PERVERTED.

RUSH does NOT represent Christian values. He's gross and slimy, and perverted, and a horrendous hypocrite. He should NOT be representing conservatives in the media, but the media is worthless and completely corrupted on both sides.
