Combining RR-BB.com into RaptureForums.com

Because it has become insanely difficult to manage a bulletin board these days, the managers of Rapture Ready and Rapture Forums have decided to join our boards together under a software program that is easier to manage. Because RF has their database operating well under an Enforo license, we decided to make Rapture Forums the focal point of a consolidation. Since Chris, the owner of RF, has long experience in running a forum, he can better manage the problems that come with this technology.

If you do not have an account at https://www.raptureforums.com/forums/, please sign up. By the end of November, it will become the forward address of RR-BB.com

With the recent revealing of Apple's engineered obsolescence on older model iPhones,
I have a sneaking suspicion that all of the products are eventually updated with
self-destruct code of some sort. Had an early 2008 model Intel iMac that could no longer
be updated as of this past summer.... By October all of a sudden it just died and refused
to boot-up? There could be a perfectly good reason in the hardware, but now I'm wondering...

I prefer to invoke Hanlon's Razor: "Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity." You have a generation of chipmakers who were after higher and higher performance benchmarks, and they took shortcuts. Or they were building a $250 motherboard and had the choice to include a good-quality US made capacitor for 3-1/2 cents, or a self-destructing Chinese capacitor for 2 cents. I'm hearing that the "fix" can slow down a computer/device significantly. I won't recognize it to be able to not install it, but for my notebook computer at least, I'd rather take my chances and not apply the fix. I want it to stay fast.
