  • Sarah McLachlan and Bon Jovi as "worship" music in church

found this online since we brought up Miley Cyrus music being used as worship music during church services

it is from some church called Parkview Christian Church

is it me or have our seeker churches now gone from worshiping GOD to doing concerts under the guise of "worship"

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also (Matthew 6:21)

, is this for real? This is in a church and one of the lines in the second song says "when every step I took in faith deceived me".....does the Bible (and the church) not teach that we are to walk by FAITH???

        i am literally stunned!!
"Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God." Romans 5:1-2 NKJV

The word for "sun" in HEBREW is שמש/she-MESH!

          My Rapture/Left Behind Message

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast.

I couldn't even watch both of all the way through, the first time I walk in my home church & they are doing music like this, is the day I turn around & leave with Dh & the girls. Some churches seem to be getter farther & farther away from true Bible teachings for fear of offending someone. We don't call sin, sin in many churches any more, I'm, afraid to know just how much worse it will get before the Lord calls us home. Every day this nation & so many people are getting away from God, then you have churches that allow this music.
Neither will their silver nor their gold will be able to save them on the day of the Lord's wrath. In the fire of His jealousy the whole world will be consumed, for He will make a sudden end of all who live in the earth. Zephaniah 1:18

they are seeker-driven churches which believes being missional and relevant is more important than anything else

Sarah McLachlan - Sweet Surrender Lyrics

                  it doesnít mean much
It doesnít mean anything at all
The life Iíve left behind me
                  Is a cold room
                  Iíve crossed the last line
                  From where I canít return
Where every step I took in faith
                  Betrayed me
And led me from my home
                  And sweet
                  Sweet surrender
Is all that I have to give
                  You take me in
                  No questions asked
                  You strip away the ugliness
                  That surrounds me
                  Are you an angel
                  Am I already that gone
                  I only hope
                  That I wonít disappoint you
                  When Iím down here
                  On my knees
                  And sweet
                  Sweet
                  Sweet surrender
Is all that I have to give
                  Sweet
                  Sweet
                  Sweet surrender
Is all that I have to give
                  And I donít understand
By the touch of your hand
I would be the one to fall
                  I miss the little things
                  I miss everything (about you)
                  It doesnít mean much
It doesnít mean anything at all
The life I left behind me
                  Is a cold room
                  And sweet
                  Sweet
                  Sweet surrender
Is all that I have to give

                  =====================================

it's my life by Bon Jovi lyrics

                  This ain't a song for the broken-hearted
No silent prayer for the faith-departed
I ain't gonna be just a face in the crowd
                  You're gonna hear my voice
When I shout it out loud

                  [Chorus:]
                  It's my life
                  It's now or never
                  I ain't gonna live forever
I just want to live while I'm alive
                  (It's my life)
My heart is like an open highway
                  Like Frankie said
                  I did it my way
I just wanna live while I'm alive
                  It's my life

This is for the ones who stood their ground
For Tommy and Gina who never backed down
Tomorrow's getting harder make no mistake
                  Luck ain't even lucky
Got to make your own breaks

                  [Chorus:]
                  It's my life
                  And it's now or never
                  I ain't gonna live forever
I just want to live while I'm alive
                  (It's my life)
My heart is like an open highway
                  Like Frankie said
                  I did it my way
I just want to live while I'm alive
                  'Cause it's my life

Better stand tall when they're calling you out
Don't bend, don't break, baby, don't back down

                  [Chorus:]
                  It's my life
                  And it's now or never
'Cause I ain't gonna live forever
I just want to live while I'm alive

One of the reasons we left our old church was because they covered Aerosmith's Livin' on the Edge during the offering. Was supposed to be relevant to the sermon topic.

When we moved to our current city and were visiting churches, one performed a Coldplay song during the worship service. That was our first and last visit to that church. I think U2 gets a lot of play in the seeker churches. You can pick those out by the worship leader's rose colored glasses.

This is really sad, music is such an important part of worship.

Song lyrics like anything else should be scriptually sound.

These churches are so lost in their teachings, they may as well be charging admission and putting on a concert. <pass the beer>

                        Ugh!

Hippies are always rearing their ugly haired heads in weird ways....
Don't panic! Just be Rapture Ready.

                          Joel 3:2

I will gather all nations and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat. There I will put them on trial for what they did to my inheritance, my people Israel, because they scattered my people among the nations and divided up my land.

I'm telling you, things have not just gotten creepily apostate, but downright idiotic.
I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked.
                            For the LORD God is a sun and shield; the LORD bestows favor and honor;
no good thing does He withhold from those whose walk is blameless.

                            Psalm 84:10-11

If I heard songs like that at a worship service, I'd be making a quick exit.

Take one and pass it on!
